It's Wednesday! You know what that means! Top Ten Things I Appreciate Today!
- GLEE! Oh my goodness! I love this show! Hulu it!
-and glee brings me to: music and dancing! EXCLAMATION POINT! It is so nice that I can make a Pandora station of the Glee Cast and then listen and dance to song after song of wonderful tunes.
-so I guess that means I should include Pandora! I felt like listening to some oldies yesterday, but I don't know any radio stations around here and I never get any of them very clearly anyway, so what did I do? I made a Supremes Pandora Station. Brilliant.
-scrapbooking. I did five pages today. Sure they are butt ugly, but it is nice to put pictures on a page instead of having them in a box in a drawer.
-Newman's Black Bean and Corn Salsa. I love you, Paul Newman. RIP.
-Rumors by Josh Ritter. I listen to this song and I want to set up some choreography and make a music video. Plus, it has a great line in it: "and the string section screaming like horses in a barn burning up."
-Our upstairs neighbor Danny. He brings us his papers to edit. I love editing papers. Thank you, Danny.
-cleaning up the Library's catalog. Today I was looking for something to do, so I started making some lists which is a little difficult with our program, and I ended up finding a number of mistakes that I got to fix. It makes me feel happy.
-apples. Peter and I picked apples a few weeks ago, so I've been eating one or more daily. Apples are so good. Also, Peter, Vanessa, Amanda and I got caramel apples last weekend. So yummy!
-Thanksgiving . . . oh it is getting close and I love food and family and fun and thankfulness!

i bless the day i met you . . .
Peter and I had last Friday off from work because we both worked Saturday. We made good use of Friday though! He and I went to DK Orchards and picked some apples, and then had dinner (and flu shots!) with Peter's parents, and then headed to see Rosie Thomas!
Apple picking was lovely! I had been to this place before with Mom Daining, Tiya and Mom Daining's sister and her husband. This time, Peter and I just picked half a bushel, got some pumpkins and cider (which of course meant that we got donuts later to enjoy with the cider), and ran through the corn maze. It is so nice to be outside in the fall. Sweaters and mittens and hats and apples and colorful leaves. Fall may be my new favorite season!
Peter's parents order JB's pizza--the best pizza in GR, and we sat around and talked and ate pizza, and of course someone had to stick a needle in my arm! Hopefully that just means I won't be getting the flu anytime soon.
Coincidently, our friends from Grand Haven ended up sitting just down the row from us, and we didn't even know they were going to be there!
Days off and time with the one you love is the same as JOY!

Good Wednesday!
Hello!
Sister Mandy sometimes does Wordless Wednesday, but I am not that witty, so I am doing Top Ten Wednesday. I know! I know! It should be top ten Tuesday, but like I said, I'm not witty.
ten things I appreciate today:
-Kelly Clarkson. I read some list somewhere about things the writer likes, and he or she made a comment about how Clarkson is the only actual American Idol. She is. Plus, her music is fun to dance to in the car or out of the car, and she is my friend (a.k.a Vanessa Porter).
-Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin. I'm reading this children's book because it has had some Newbery buzz. I started it after finishing Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins which was quite a crazy ride, so I had a hard time starting Mountain, but I read a few chapters this morning, and it was lovely. The plot got interesting (more interesting) and the main character's father said something quite nice. He had told a story about a happy family, and a king who tries to learn their secret to being happy, so the family gives him a slip of paper, but before anyone reads the paper it flies away in the wind, and all that anyone could tell was that this piece of paper had one word written over and over again.
So here's what Ba (the father) said "I have thought a long time about what that word could have been. [...] Was it wisdom or honor? Love or truth? For a long time I liked to think that the word was kindness. [...] But now [...] I think, perhaps, the word was faith."
-My work ethic. Dear Father, I always thought you made me do too much work when I lived at home. You might have. I don't know. I do know that I work hard at the library and I get a lot done. I like that. Around the house...I could probably work a little harder.
-Airbourne. It just tastes yummy to me. And hopefully, keeps me healthy.
-Patience. My computer is a little slow. Patience is good for that.
-ROSIE THOMAS. I love Rosie Thomas. Peter and I will be seeing her in concert (sort of) for the forth time on Friday. I am eternally happy (until the concert is over and I have to wait a whole year for her to come back to Calvin). Hopefully (and I may just myspace her and ask her) she will play Guess It May. This is the song Peter and I danced to for our first dance at our wedding. Go listen to Rosie today!
-Organization of course! Peter's parents got us another bookshelf for my birthday and I got to organize all our books and they are on nice shelves and it is so good! Plus, I'm organizing all our paper crap--you know bills, records whatever. I love it!
-Thursday nights. Jakie usually comes out to our house and we all watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and make cookies. Of course, I always eat too much cookie dough and feel like crap, but it is still nice.
-Sporcle. Let's make this a permanent fixture on the list. I can name all the countries of the world, and I can almost name all of them in alphabetical order. It may be pointless and useless, but you are a little jealous and in awe. Admit it.
-Peter. Oh, I am so cheesy! But he is great really. He made this book of songs, so that when we try to sing in the car we can actually remember/read the words to the songs we want to sing. Plus, he made me dinner last night, and he cares about doing well in his job and his marriage and his life. And even though I almost always refuse to give him back rubs when he asks, he always gives me one when I ask.
